Painball

I’m writing this tonight because tomorrow I probably won’t be able to move… A few of us went paintballing this afternoon, one of the perks of not really having one employer. Besides some fairly serious bruises, I’m in pretty good shape but I do not look forward to tomorrow. I wish I did things like this more often but something tells me the fear of getting pegged in the face might outweigh the initial novelty of being in a reality-based Quake match. I think had we played capture the flag, I might have been a little more helpful to my team, because as is common knowledge, my Q3ACTF flag-defending skills are, quite frankly, off the charts.

  1. mmmmm, pain. My knee is so fucked. i took a hard fall (last game) on the cement. yes, thats right, it was a cement floor we played on. It was covered in oil from the paint also… kinda made shit slippery and sketchy.

  2. did you guys get to choose what team you played against?Last time I went paintballing, it was with a bunch of my colorist friends (comic book coloring, that is) at this downtown indoor paintballing place. Right next to the SDPD headquarters. So it was a bunch of out of shape computer jockeys vs. an off-duty SWAT team. You think you know pain? I’ll tell you of pain…

  3. Yeah, basically it was all the odd balls against the “sharpshooters”. The sharpshooters were a team that meets their weekly. Basically, we were beaten bad every time.

  4. So did you do the flying through the air fast turn fire and dodge move that killed three people with one shot?

  5. no… but I did run up the far right side and kill both of our opponents within the first 60 seconds of a 3 on 2 game.
