I guess YOU should be head of product development, then?

I love it when know-nothing people decide that they know far better what Apple should do than Apple itself. Regarding the iPod:

1. Put a 40-GB hard drive in it so it would have been head and shoulders above its numerous competitors.

2. Added AirPort wireless connectivity to it.

3. Included digital video features.

4. Made it PC-compatible.

5. Sold it for at least half the price.

Right. And they didn’t do this out-of-this-world stuff because it absolutely isn’t possible to do all this for half the price AND keep it about the size of a deck of fucking cards. Jesus. They could have done this, sure. But you would have had to wait like 5 or 6 years for it all and by then who knows where things will be and the iPod would be regarded as behind still.

Mmmm… Cookies

You’ll notice with the next survey (or this one if you’ve voted in the past 5 minutes) that we are using cookies to track voting. Apparently we have 6-year olds who enjoy being retarded viewing our site.

I had to ban some folks because I figured out who was loading up the survey with bad votes. But there are cookies in place now which will make that sort of thing a little harder but still not impossible. Should I un-ban them? Am I taking this too seriously?

Ahem. Rhetorical but I know the answers are both ‘yes.’

Exclusive Flash MX Screenshots

So while speculation has been plentiful about Flash MX and Flash 6 (MX for Mac, 6 for Windows), your trusty pals at Alternate have ‘received’ exlusive screenshots of the recently announced Flash MX Beta for MacOS X. Bask in its glory, my friends, even though A. Flash isn’t that cool and B. We really shouldn’t get that excited over the fact that MM has finally started paying attention to its UIs. But it’s interesting all the same. And before ThinkSecret or MOSR.
