Army and Apple … a tough combo.

I found an interesting article about a group of hackers called the “Crime Boys” who apparently hacked all the NT servers they could get their hands on at various government facilities… BUT the interesting part is that they got denied when they tried to hack into the ARMY web servers. The ARMY’s NT/IIS servers had recently been replaced by Apple’s MacintoshOS and Star Nine’s WebStar http server which proved to be an unhackable combo. Gotta love it!

Here We Go Again

Okay. Here we go again. According to this Excite.com article, Compaq and MS are going to “hard code” MSN into new Compaq Presario computers, with ” special keyboard buttons and additional software that will allow users to quickly access the Internet through MSN.”
Great.
Is it just me, or are PC companies getting dumber and dumber? Instead of educating consumers and giving them the possibility of making choices for themselves, they’re going to make it even easier to get on the internet. I’ve got an idea. How about if people who don’t know how to use the internet don’t use it? Or more to the point: How about if people uneducated about the internet and technology get educated about them instead of letting Bill Gates do the thinking for them? And why isn’t anyone encouraging education about these issues?
Oh, wait. I know. Then Compaq, eMachines and Microsoft would stop making money. Right.

Internet Survey

For all you online form junkies, there is an interesting informal Internet Usage Survey going on that some of you might enjoy filling out. Its primary purpose is to study personal Internet surfing habits
BUT the cool thing is that they dont ask for personal information such as your name, email, or telephone number. All they ask is that you fill out the questionnaire to the best of your ability.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the point… the findings will be available at the site which would be great stuff for all you ebusiness folks that are always on the hunt for the most recent internet stats.
