No one's doin' the Dew?
I must admit, I thought Mountain Dew would be much higher up in the caffeine polls…. That’s certainly where my vote went.

Stuff. There’s you know.. like.. stuff. In the. Stuff section. Well, there’s desktops, anyway.
Anyone remember this post about the Pentium 4s being slower than P3s? Well, offline, Tai and I had a little conversation about making a t-shirt that said ‘MHZ, SHMHZ’ on the front, with alternate.org on the back… Well… I found a website that will do that for us.. They take t-shirt ideas from designers, for designers, and if people want your shirt, they’ll print ’em for you, and even sell ’em (they make the money, but whatever).. So if you see ours up there, vote for it, so you can have it.
I’ve busted my ass today, and gotten the whole damn site working. I improved many functions, and the site is just about finished for now. Just about the only emptiness is on the ‘stuff’ page, but judging by the way I’m going today, that’ll be content-free for not much longer. The admin tool looks like a broken-down pickup truck but it works, and you don’t care about that. Listen closely… the sound you’ll hear is me collapsing in a heap. I’ve learning more about PHP today than I have in the year or so this site’s been online.>
This is a joke. I can’t believe the new chairman of the FCC actually thinks people still believe deregulation works. If he isn’t aware, prices have only gone up on phone bills, cable bills and most clearly power bills in California. All products of deregulation.
“I believe deregulation is instead a critical ingredient for facilitating competition.”
Bob Marley got a star on Hollywood Blvd today. Very few people deserve this more than him.
I find this amusing. In Eudora 5, with the new ‘chile pepper’ rating for emails containing dirty words, the word ‘shit’ gets three peppers, and the word ‘fucker’ only gets two. Does that not seem wrong to anyone else?
Damn, I really want one of these.
…sigh
This study on cellular phones that was just released seems to say that they don’t cause cancer. I’m naturally skeptical of this kind of shit because nowhere does it say who funded it and the details in general seemed kind of on the skimpy side. Plus, the way they obtained the information seems to be actually quite invasive. I wonder if they contacted these people:
“Johansen used cell phone company records to identify Danes who began using the phones between 1982 and 1995. Using those personal ID numbers, he matched phone users with the registry’s cancer records through the end of 1996, to determine if cell callers suffered cancer at the same rate as other Danes.”
Uhm. Okay. So some guy apparently took a PowerBook and mounted it in his Nissan Pathfinder in order to play MP3s and god-knows what else. He uses Airport to transfer the files between his house and car. He calls it the Pathintosh, and it has the Apple logo instead of a front-mounted license plate. Nice. The most disturbing part about the whole thing? ‘Factory steering wheel audio controls rewired to run scripts.’ WHAT THE FUCK? Now THAT’s ingenuity.
I would have put it in a BMW, and called it a ‘PBMW MG3.’ But that’s just me.
