It all blends together…
I’ve wanted to do something, as a musician, for years. I’ve always enjoyed songwriting, especially of the rock variety, but I’ve been interesting in DJs and remixing, but I’ve never thought that they were truly using the medium as well as they could.
Well, it happened. Listen to the second song, and anything else that catches your fancy. Apparently, this is a huge thing in London. I enjoyed the Avalanches’ record this year, because it hinted at this kind of music (and in many ways did it better). While a lot of it can definitely be described as novelty, the potential here is mindboggling, to me. Via MeFi.

Funny, I may be a closet DJ myself. I’ve been looking around for a high-end sound card for my Mac and Reason from Propellerhead Software. A little something other then just coding all day…
I’m a little out of range (age) for clubbing, but are there any good DJ’s in Denver?

Props to scott, I”ve been a Dj for about 3 yeqars now, and I have never heard something put together like this… I have to admit that at first was a little thrown off, but this really is cool!
Oh and Steve… If you want to do high end sound on a Mac, you don’t need a sound card really, there are a bunch of good out board Firewire options. $700+ (the 828) gets you a killer breakout box from MOTU, http://www.motu.com

as impressive as i think Alternate’s user base is, i have a feeling that Metafilter might have help crash it a little more. or mayhaps a combination of the two. ohwell. i hope the people who heard it found it interesting. Bazo and I found out that its really pretty easy to do in CoolEdit. he made an unholy mix of Tool, some Drum&Bass, and 10,000 Maniacs.
…Anyone have any information as to when or where this link might be back up?
