Hi.
You have reached what I’m thinking will probably be Alternate.org’s new design, powered by WordPress, instead of my terribly-coded pile of PHP. This means we’ll have some new features, and it also hopefully means I might actually start, you know, like, posting stuff again. Not that there are many of you left to read it, but hey. Maybe we’ll see a new dawn of Alternate ruling the world. Or probably not.
In any case, the design’s not done in all parts of the site, and I’m sure there are templates lying around that look like hell that you can find if you click around long enough. I’m using Scalable Inman Flash Replacement for the headers, but I’m finding Safari 2 loads the regular headers in view first and then replaces everything, which takes an awful lot longer than it should. If this becomes annoying, I’ll probably turn it off, but let me know what you think, anyway.

Looks great. 😉
Very snazzy.
I like the redesign. The only flaw I see is in the banner. The left image has an off-white background and the right has a white background so there is a line down the middle. I think it would look better without that line by either stretching the off-white background all the way across the banner or fading out that line as a gradient between the off-white and white. Sorry for being terribly nit-picky.
I love the circle graphic. Where does that come from? Is that a painting? Or distorted Photoshop image?
no, you’re right. it’s not nit-picky, I just didn’t notice it until I got into work today… the colors on my iBook just bleed a little too much into eachother for me to tell it when I put it together. THANKS for adding ANOTHER thing for me to work on tonight, GOSH. 🙂
Oh, and its from my freelance website, Retinal.nu. It included mostly stuff manipulated in photoshop, but includes a photo taken by a friend of mine.
