Grand farewell

Grand Royal Records, started by the Beastie Boys, is officially going out of business. Kind of sad seeing as they only had two good bands: the Beastie Boys and at the drive-in. Notice, though, that the logo on the top left says “Since 1992.” But in the news column it says “1993-2001.” Also the title on the site is “Guaranteed Every Time.” Not for long.

  1. never been a big beasties fan (though i fuckin respect mixmaster mike), but i have at the drive in rage. i mean, that band upped the ante for what i expect from a live show. here they are getting some buzz, getting some props for being a band, indie or otherwise, that seriously rocks and they self destruct by going all hiatus style. just disappointing to me, i guess. i like seeing bands get the respect they deserve.

  2. Omar and Cedric from at the drive-in have a side project called De Facto that have a single, a new album and then a rerelease of their first album coming out soon.
