This has to be the most ridiculous product I have ever seen… except for, maybe, the real doll.

The first annual Weblog Awards are currently being voted on. So go vote, if your heart desires. Although I think it fair to warn you: Alternate is NOWHERE to be found, but that’s okay. I was hoping at least we’d make it next to Slashdot and Arstechnica, but no. To quote 37signals: No Awards, Please.

At 10:53PM on Monday, January 22: I received an email from the billing department of Hostrocket.com informing me that the BlogVoices.com account was in violation of the Hostrocket Terms of Service. Regardless of whether or not I agree with the reasoning, the decision has been made.

Hostrocket was to be the third and final attempt to host the BlogVoices service and I do not intend to deviate from my resolution. BlogVoices.com will be closing indefinitely.

At least the source code is going to be released… so we can host our own version of it, which is what this guy should have done to begin with.

Vaguely off topic post… but I was very impressed when I saw this new idea and thought some of you (snowboarder/skiers) might want to see it.

My wish is happening…

James Newsted, bassist of Metallica has called it quits after fourteen years with the band.

His retirement from Metallica is said to be due to private and personal reasons and the physical damage he has incurred from the
years of playing the music he loves.

I bet that millionaire-dollar rock and roll lifestyle is a bit much. Or could it be fourteen, grueling years with mutant-boy, Lars.

Dismantle Metallica! One down, three to go!

Looks like lights are going off all over California. Apparently this is one of the perks of deregulation and I guess of capitalism as a whole. Another notch on the proverbial bedpost for the free market.
