Four – Zip

Go Avs! I don’t ‘woo-hoo’ much, but WooHoo! Four to nothing, wow. Pretty sweet game, if you’re an Avalanche fan (as most of us in Colorado tend to be). It’s too bad the final game isn’t in New Jersey… We just can’t seem to win at home.

This is why we all bought computers and shell out monthly for Internet connections.

I have shopped at WalMart once. I should have saved my receipt and scanned it for everyone to see.

PG&BS

This is outrageous. PG&E filed with a federal court on Friday, asking for approval to double their 226 top executives’ pay, totalling $17.5 million in ADDITIONAL payouts. So they’re rewarding and trying to keep the very same people that drove them into bankruptcy. For the first time in my life, I’m glad I don’t live in California anymore. Fucking corporations. Did you see that number? 226 top executives. Not even all, and there’s over 200. Link via SVN.

The payouts would be on top of the $50 million in bonuses and raises awarded just before PG&E’s April 6 bankruptcy filing. The utility argued then, as well, that the money was necessary to keep senior managers from leaving.

Glynn, chairman of both the parent company and the utility, was forced to get by with a raise of $100,000, bringing his total annual salary to $900,000. In 1999, he earned $800,000 in salary and $1.2 million in bonuses.

Ah, poor Mr. CEO. Only a 900 grand salary? What must your country-club attending friends think? I’m sure the payments on that Mercedes or BMW or Jaguar you drive are even harder to make now!

Three weeks ago I got layed off. It was not a big deal, because I was about to quit anyway, and had already started looking for a new job. Breaking an Office Space(tm) rule, I got laid off on a Monday. That same day I hatched a scheme.

You see, E3 was this week. Ever since I was a young lad, I knew of two events that real gamers would kill to be present at: CES (in Las Vegas), and E3 (in LA). I always wanted to go. This year, I hatched a plan. E3 is not open to the public. I decided to see if I had the moxie to get in, as Media. Only two golden tickets were required: 1) a letter from an editor, publisher, etc. (on their letterhead) stating that I was there “on assignment,” and 2) an industry-related article published within the last six months.

Thats it.

It was so simple. I figured I could do it all on my own, but to expedite things, I brought in the brilliance of Kevin, who is a master craftsman. For the article, he made it look all scanned in and copied. It was beautiful. For the letter, well, he actually sent me on assignment for Alternate. This is the “story” that was “promised” to “him” about “E3.”(continued in the Comment thingie)

For all you switch-hitters out there

An interesting article regarding Vermont representative Jim Jeffords and his brave party-switching actions… Aren’t they all Republicrats, anyway? 🙂 Link via email sumbission.

It does not take brain surgery to figure out that I really was standing still and the two major parties were revolving around me.

If only I had ten million dollars
