Damnit, No Hoverboard

I love forgetting about memes. I remember hearing that Cameron Crowe originally wanted to call “Almost Famous” by a much more fitting name: “Untitled.” It would have had a different cut, and before it was released in theatres, he had already announced that he would release “Untitled” on DVD. Complete with audio commentary from his mother.

The point is, I completely forgot about that. I first heard about that two years ago; this Tuesday it is being released. Insert happy suprise here.

I’ve also tried to forget about all the Am-I-All-Your-Ikissyou!-or-Not-Are-Belong-To-Us Memes of the Internet. It’s worked, somewhat. But I also forgot about IT.

So is it revolutionary? Will it really change transportation as we know it? Why the fuck haven’t we invented flying cars yet?! Must I really release my pocket monolith and send us one step forward on the evolutionary scale? Hello McFlyyy.

I still haven’t seen video of this “Ginger” yet. That’s an exclusive that Good Morning America paid mad cash for. Maybe when I see it moving I’ll be blown away. I hope so. The excitement of a new, life-changing invention is half the fun. What a fun little meme it’s been.

But I still want a hoverboard.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

George Harrison died yesterday. I’ve never been an enormous Beatles fan, but I have an appriciation for the quality of their music and its influence. As a side note, George Harrison wrote my favorite Beatles song, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” This was unfortunate but inevitable.

The tangent universe is unstable

If you thought the Requiem for a Dream, Traffic, or Memento sites were awesome, check out Donnie Darko.

Insanely huge and definitely a lot of work went into it. Pay attention.. you might miss something. Also, I noticed that the little faux popup windows are OS-specific.. they detect which platform you’re on and give you the right faux widgets in the Flash by default. Definitely slick and almost totally transparent to the user.
