The Simpsons are finally coming to DVD. I have been waiting for this for a looong time. As much as I love the first couple of years, I can’t wait for seasons 3-9, but I’m happy with what I can get. Plus, it gives us all a chance to reflect on how much this damn show has permeated our lives. For most people I know, Sunday night is a decade old ritual. And it reminds you how hard it is to deal with people who don’t enjoy the Simpsons. They are seriously different people. Also, rumor has it that Futurama is coming to DVD in November.

Nice… I’ve been watching the Simpsons for over half my life. Fucked up, but i don’t really care. Althought I must admit: this past season was mostly seen in re-runs after the Sopranos season was over… Every week, it was a difficult decision to make..’Simpsons, Sopranos….’ but eventually, HBO won out, primarily because the sopranos were simply more compelling, and i didn’t particularly enjoy ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ or the X-files any more.
BTW: It must be communicated here that Sunday night is just about the ONLY TV i watch all week, except for when my work is done by 5, i’ll watch the local hour of simpsons. So I watch maybe a total of 6 hours of TV a week, 1 a day between 5 and 6 for the simpsons, and 1 on Sunday, which is now actually Sex n the City time on HBO.
