What is it with these two jerks I work with? They’ve both historically been anti-Mac, and now anti-me as well. I sent out an email after finishing the company-themed Audion faceplate, citing Windows’ inefficiencies as being reason one wasn’t developed for them… and both these guys got started on some sort of major rip-on-Kevin campaign. I guess some people just need an excuse.
Vaguely off topic post… but I was very impressed when I saw this new idea and thought some of you (snowboarder/skiers) might want to see it.

His retirement from Metallica is said to be due to private and personal reasons and the physical damage he has incurred from the
years of playing the music he loves.
I bet that millionaire-dollar rock and roll lifestyle is a bit much. Or could it be fourteen, grueling years with mutant-boy, Lars.

We intend to accelerate our plans to introduce compact hi-tech newsgathering gear. Look for the quick introduction of small, high-quality DV cameras and laptop editing equipment (a Mac laptop), enabling us to deploy smaller reporting teams one or two people at times when it makes sense. Larger gear will be with us for some time to come and will be used as needed. But the days of routinely dispatching three- and four-person reporting teams with cases of bulky equipment are approaching an end. As we introduce this new gear, correspondents would do well to learn how to shoot and edit (even if called upon only occasionally to utilize those skills), and smart shooters and editors will learn how to write and track. While this is not a one-size-fits-all strategy and CNN will always value exceptional ability, the more multi-talented a newsgatherer, the more opportunity the News Group will provide that person.

What is supposed to be the schoolchild’s gateway to college or the work force is mainly seen by even the best and brightest students as a time to drift through class or not show up at all.
You’re kidding! Really? Wow. I would have never guessed that. It took a fucking panel of experts to figure that out?
Sometimes people are so fucking disrespectful it makes me physically ill to my stomach. I went to see downset on Sunday and that crowd that showed up was one of the worst I have ever had to endure. Basically, this band was one of the first, I hate to use the phrase because I hate the music, “rap-metal” bands. Except, downset is more like “hip-hop-hardcore,” if that means anything at all. They have been doing this stuff since 1989 and now they have been kind of shunned aside by the media because their music is extremely political and very heartfelt. They make Fred Durst look like the whiny, derivative little fuck that he is. Well, they got up on stage and basically, there were 10 or 15 kids totally mocking them, doing stupid shit, pissing a lot of people off, myself included. I have no idea if they knew what they were doing, or if they were just really stupid and ignorant and did it because they are young and need attention. This band has meant a lot to me for a long time and I hate to see something that is so purely heartfelt and has no corporate strings attached be disrespected, especially to their faces. Just go home if you don’t like the band.
Holy shit. The company I work for just laid off our entire development/operations staff. Including people that have been around for the entire length of the company’s life. We (the design staff) have been told that we are all safe in our jobs, and that we’re going to transform back into a traditional design shop. I feel horrible for all the people who got laid off.. including people with children. I’m physically ill by this. If ANYONE reading this needs really great Cold Fusion or Java developers, please contact me. They’re all great people who do great work. I’m so sad for them, and quite frightened for myself. Now I’m REALLY depressed Apple didn’t hire me.
