As opposed to the Apple in Indiana?

I just picked up my Apple Pro optical mouse (for whatever reason) and saw that in the front curve on the bottom, right above the logo and just inside the rubber ring are the words: ‘Designed by Apple in California.’ This confuses the hell out of me. Was it put there in order to lead people away from the idea that someone ELSE designed it? And why is it specific to California? I’m just so confused… I wonder if someone knows any hardware designers over there and can ask them?

Here it is for free, but… I'll pay for it anyway

“We are pleased to offer the Napster community the opportunity to easily purchase music they discover on Napster,” said Napster’s chief operating officer Milton Olin.

It was unclear why anyone using Napster to download music for free would gravitate toward an online retailer who actually wants money for its products.

You’re kidding, right? It’s ‘unclear?’ It’s actually quite ridiculous to expect people to start paying for music, especially from within Napster.

No more secrets

In an attempt to be at least somewhat democratic here at Alternate, I’ve decided to let you, the reader, decide which ‘look n feel’ (or ‘duckbucket’, as we like to call it) we’re actually going to go with for the redesign. Make your voice heard in the voting booth to the left.

Jump in the Trance Stream

Like trance? Check out ‘Tag’s Trance Trip’ in the Audion ‘Stream Guide’ window. This is the first time I’ve had the problem where I couldn’t turn my volume up loud enough.

And, for you PC fuckers out there, you can point your browser to TagsTrance.com to get the stream.

To Kill Time, Visit Alternate.org

This class I am taking is absolutely ridiculous. I figured I’d bolster my slouching GPA with a web design class called “Interactive Media Design.” They really should have called it “Rudimentary Web Design.” I’ve been sitting in this class for three weeks and we are only as far the most basic link tags. This is not a University level class, this is the kind of class that middle aged mothers take at the local community college. It’s almost funny because half of the class is teaching the professor(I use the term lightly) and at the same time it’s quite sad.

I’ve been chronologically reviewing all the past posts on erasing.org. Which is a good way to spend time if you have a heavy heart or a high speed internet connection and a lot of time to kill.

Hrm. Well it was (not) fun while it lasted.

From BlogVoices:

http://www.blogvoices.com/notice.bv
At 10:53PM on Monday, January 22: I received an email from the billing department of Hostrocket.com informing me that the BlogVoices.com account was in violation of the Hostrocket Terms of Service. Regardless of whether or not I agree with the reasoning, the decision has been made.

Hostrocket was to be the third and final attempt to host the BlogVoices service and I do not intend to deviate from my resolution. BlogVoices.com will be closing indefinitely.

At least the source code is going to be released… so we can host our own version of it, which is what this guy should have done to begin with.

Sneak Peek

In order to build up some excitement around the new Alternate design, I worked up a little desktop for all you’s out there who might want one. It’s made for 1280×1024, so it’s big, but it’ll resize nicely, I believe.
