A friend of mine once moved from Santa Barbara, California (as close to perfect as you can get) … to Detroit, something he explained as resembling “downtown Beirut”.
fuck the cup! the lakers are bitches!sorry. im realizing that i have a soft spot for the last 5 minutes of basketball, especially playoff basketball. the lakers are the yankees of basketball. who wants to see the yankees win yet again? naht me.
I haven’t been to Beirut, so I don’t know… I know it’s not that hot anyway. The city of Detroit has plenty of problems… the lasting effects of the race riots in the late 40s and in 1968. The city is very segregated not only between race but also economically. Wayne County is one of the poorest counties in the Midwest however neighboring Oakland County is the richest county in the United States.
Detroit has grit and it does have its problems, but we can kick your ass.
