Say a Prayer for Surf Boy

French Club President, Bombardment Society Founder, Bee Keeping Society Member, rocker? Max Fischer has been plugging his new movie “Slackers” on the tube, and somehow managed to get his band to play Letterman. Talia Shire’s son is a smart kid, quick with the wit, and of the actor-to-musician kids out there, his band isn’t half bad. Much better than Tina Yothers’ band, (Though not as good as Theo’s).

When you’ve had such memorable, defined roles, is the possible anonymity of music your only escape? I mean, J-Lo wasn’t really much of an actress before she went headlong into music (*coughAnacondacough*), so it’s not that weird for her, but these other kids, I’m struck by how surreal it is to watch them rock out. It’s not fair, but in many ways, we the public see them more as their roles than for the people that they are. Guess thats a compliment to their craft. Oh well, just enjoy the strangeness.
