He Man

So, The Chooch tells me that He-Man and Transformers figures have been re-released. I was a huge He-Man fan (ahem) when I was like 4 years old. And surprisingly enough, I hardly recognize any of those figures, except for TrapJaw, because he had a rad name and interchangeable claw-things. And Transformers are over-rated, I think.

  1. Christmas of 1984 I sat at the window hoping santa claus would appear with the tower of grayskull in his pack. Woke up the next morning and there was no tower. I was devistated. And this new he-man is hideous. A shadow of his former self.

  2. i think that man-at-arms looks cooler than he did back in the day, but everone else does kinda look like ass. and transformers rocked. they had the best/most depressing franchise-based movie ever. quick, remember what it felt like when optimus prime died. yeah, thats right you cried.

keeping up with the nostalgia tip that seems to be permeating this week, i remember about 3 years ago saying “hey, wouldn’t it be cool to have tshirts of old pimps like voltron, heman, and ninja turtles?” and then seeing them in hot topic a year later. someone’s bugging my house, i tell you. if anyone knows how i can make some cash off of old nintendo memories, lemme know. i have know idea how to make tshirts.

  3. not sure how i feel about this. while i’m a big fan of action figures, it looks like someone’s trying to capitalise on my nostalgia without even attempting to generate new interest in the characters. (i didn’t mind buying new star wars guys ’cause at least they released a new movie) what’s next, thundercats?
