Blackcomb, the successor to Whistler, was due out in the second half of 2002, Gates said, adding that in both releases, the Internet Explorer browser would become more fully integrated and more central.
Sounds like a great idea to me. Just keep on doing what the Government is already prosecuting you for. Awesome.

Just keep doing what kind of makes sense, really.
In what way does making the internet browser a central and an irremovable core component of the OS make sense?
I think what Mr. Jones means is that it’s in their best interest if they want to continue total browser domination. Lock the coffin, so to speak.
I remember installing the first take over Internet Explorer(v 4 as I recall). It reminded me more of a virus then a useful program. It did not work, it crashed my system, and as hard as I tried I could not remove it, even with a full system wipe!
You ask why is this a bad idea… What about those who find that there is a more efficient brower out there (ie opera, and once upon a time Netscape). With a take over everything additude Explorer makes it neigh unto impossible to use. Just because MS is bigger does not mean they are better! I personally prefer Opera, it is faster, smaller, and much much more stable!!!!!
